Tillett Ribcage

The Tillett Ribcage panels avoid the damage caused by the hard edge of the seat, particularly if a driver is thrown forward or out of the kart. Also, kart seats are available in many different shapes and sizes but they are not depth or height adjustable, which means that the fit of the seat is nearly always a compromise.
A good tight fit around the chest is essential to help protect the ribs and hipbones from damage and by using Tillett's Ribcage, you can choose the perfect height, depth and width around the rib area.
The Tillett Ribcage Spacer Kit contains 6 x M8 long seat bolt sets and 18 x 4mm nylon spacer kits to reduce the seats chest dimension.




Tillett T5VG

The Tillett T5VG is Kart-O-Rama most flexible full covered seat. The T5 is based of the T4 design except it has a flat bottom to lower the center of gravity by 3/4 of an inch, ideal for high grip tires. The T4 is the original Tillett Seat. The number of imitations is testament to the T4's excellent design. It fits correctly in every size and the fixed cover stops the driver from slipping during corners. A very popular seat for racers looking for flexible fully coverd seat. Similar to picture.

Tillett T7

The Tillett T7 is our most popular fully covered Tillett seat, it is a slightly deeper seat than the T5, which gives more support, not only for the ribs but also for the legs. The T7 has a flat area on the base to help get the seat low in the chassis and the front edge has 3/4 of an inch removed to enable more seat movement within the chassis. The extra side depth makes it a good choice for someone with rib problems.

Tillet T8
T8 (World 125 super ICC Champion 2003)

The T8 non-padded and T8 ¼ padded are the most popular seat made by Tillett Racing Seats. The T8 was the first kart seat ever made using RTM. This system makes a strong fibreglass moulding with a uniform quality and thickness, the process also speeds up production, keeping the price of the T8 below that of the hand made models.

The shape of the T8 is very similar to that of the T7, both have the same excellent comfort and depth, the only difference between the two shapes is that the T8 is slightly smaller at the top and slightly bigger at the bottom

Tillett T8 ¼ Pad Seat (Standard Flex) Soft (Flexible)

The shape of the Tillett T8 is very similar to that of the Tillett T7. The only differences between them are that the top of the Tillett T8 is slightly smaller and the bottom slightly bigger.

Tillett T9 1/4

The shape of the Tillett T9 is that of the Tillett T8 but with a 3 degrees more laid back seat angle. This hand laid seat creates a very low head position giving a low center of gravity and better aerodynamics which helps the taller drivers when the track gets grippy and covered with rubber.

The shape of the T11 is the same as the T5 Reverse only with a 3 degree more laid back seating angle which creates a very low head position, giving a low centre of gravity and better aerodynamics which helps the taller drivers.

Tillett T10VG

The Tillett T10VG for those people wanting an uncovered flexible seat. The Tillett T10VG has been designed to fit in the same place as standard Italian fibreglass, therefore avoiding positioning problems that can occur in some types of chassis.

The Tillett T10 1/4 pad is used for the larger racer where a T8 1/4 XL is not comfortable.










RibTect Seats

In a race kart, one of the main chassis tuning components is the go-kart seat. Because a go-kart has no suspension, the chassis itself must flex for the kart to corner correctly. This flex also goes through the seat. If a seat is too stiff, it will not allow the chassis to flex properly. This can cause a chassis to "bind up" which will slow you down. Because of many years of karting experience, Ribtect created a unique lay-up with materials that they thought would allow for better chassis performance. The idea was to add an "X-pattern" in the lay-up of the seat. They use 6" uni-directional carbon fiber strips to connect the seat from corner to corner. Then, the rest of the seat is laid up with composite fiberglass, allowing for more cross-flex than any other racing seat on the market.

The idea is this... When a sprint or road race kart rolls into a left hand corner, the inside rear tire must lift up off the ground to allow the kart to turn without scrubbing speed. When this happens, the upper left portion of the seat is flexed toward the lower, right portion of the seat. This "cross flex" in the seat will hold energy, like a leaf spring until the chassis "unloads" off of the corner. When the chassis unloads, it is assisted with the energy stored in the "X pattern" of the seat. This will allow for a better feel into the corner and a better launch off of the corner. Most of the time, allowing for faster lap times.

The Ribtect Seat is unique in shape and unique in lay-up. There are countless hours in the design of this seat and countless laps, race after race, to find the best possible lay-up / flexibility. We have been known to make "custom" seats for customers looking for more chassis tuning tools. We can make a seat very soft and flexible, which may work very well for some chassis in some conditions. Or we can make a seat very stiff to work well with other chassis in various conditions.

    The Ribtect Seat is designed to reduce the amount of rib injuries to karters. Thus, keeping more people involved and happy with the great sport of karting.

  2. To Improve Performance
    The Ribtect seat helps the chassis and driver to work better. Keeping the kart rolling free and providing a better launch out of the turns. Connecting more of the kart to the driver for a better feel of the chassis. Lowering the fatigue level of the driver, allowing for better concentration and improved consistency and lower lap times.

  3. To Use The Best Materials
    Ribtect designed the Ribtect Seat with the best materials possible. With a shiny black finish, the seat looks nice and is extremely durable.
